Estas tablas son esenciales para que maquinistas, ingenieros y aficionados al bricolaje identifiquen r\u00e1pidamente el tama\u00f1o correcto de broca necesario para una dimensi\u00f3n de orificio espec\u00edfica. Normalmente, estas tablas hacen referencia cruzada a pulgadas fraccionarias, pulgadas decimales, mil\u00edmetros y, a menudo, calibres de alambre o tama\u00f1os num\u00e9ricos, lo que permite una f\u00e1cil conversi\u00f3n entre diferentes sistemas de medici\u00f3n.
